Vernon Townhome Project

Our Vernon townhome project was one of those jobs that truly tested the resilience and determination of the Canamex Siding team. From the very beginning, we encountered a series of challenges that could have easily slowed progress—but instead, we pushed through, worked overtime and delivered results.

We were contracted to complete two of four townhomes, using a combination of  hardie plank siding and board and batten finishes. This mix gives a clean, modern appearance while providing long-lasting protection. While we were excited to bring this vision to life, the jobsite presented more obstacles than most projects we take on.

The schedule was constantly shifting, making it difficult to plan work consistently. As siding is one of the final trades to complete, we had to remain flexible, waiting on other crews while staying ready to jump in the moment a home was prepared. At the same time, the machinery provided onsite frequently broke down, slowing productivity and forcing us to adapt.

To make matters worse, the siding materials were often moved around the site, leaving many pieces damaged or misplaced. Our team had to spend extra time sorting through product, salvaging what we could, and carefully preparing materials before installation. It was frustrating, but cutting corners was never an option.

Despite these setbacks, our crew maintained focus and professionalism. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and persistence, we successfully completed two of the four townhomes we were hired for. The finished results looked sharp.

This project reminded us that challenges are part of the construction process—but with the right team, even difficult jobs can be turned into success stories!
